Refreshing a brand

English Courtyard

Background
For over 30 years, English Courtyard has been a pioneer of luxury retirement housing within the UK.

Challenge
To update the original identity, created for the luxury housing specialist in 1977 and bring it into the 21st century.

Solution
A full brand review was conducted and a new identity created, which acknowledged some of the previous brand elements, but developed them using a different colour palette, new icons and new typography. The new identity was used across all printed materials, website, retail display materials, and promotional items.

Results
The new brand was positively embraced by existing and potential customers, the media and other key stakeholders.

Telling the story

English Courtyard advertisment Newsletter

English Courtyard’s new identity was used across all customer communications. A range of mailers and brochures were produced for each development using the core brand elements and a different colour palette for each location. A seasonal magazine was produced for existing and potential customers for both new and older homes and a new website was produced.

The new identity was also used in the print media in advertising and advertorials and used in journalists’ media packs.

 

Maintaining consistency

Brand guidelines

Brand guidelines were produced and issued to all suppliers and media partners in order to ensure the consistent reproduction of the new identity.
